1. Bank of China

It was reported on March 12, 1981 that all of Bank of China Group's overseas branches were offering global banking services, including commercial and non-commercial international settlements, transference of foreign currencies, consultations and various kinds of deposit business.

Last year, some 170 branches and representative offices of China's banks in Hong Kong had set up a computerised banking network, which drew over 14 000 clients plus deposits amounting to HK$810 million a month.

Eight China-financed banks in Hong Kong

A recent restructuring of the controlling authority of eight China-financed banks in Hong Kong would enable the country to play a more active role in the international financial market, it was reported on March 17, 1981.
