Set up cooperation in 4 areas

He also mentioned that cooperation between HK and mainland could be

stepped up in 4 areas, including:

1. Hong Kong can become an important consumption city, and a centre for conferences,

commerce, trade and entrepot in the Asian-Pacific area. It would also continue to be a finance and service centre. For those more advanced industry, the efficiency of our production management would be in a leading position. Many enterprises can be established in China, especially branches and finishing plants in Shenzhen.

HK's future depends on five factors

He held that HK's future would depend on five factors, which were :

1. HK's contributions to the world and the region, especially its economic value

to China and its suitable respect to China's will regarding politics.

Our economic development should always be ahead of neighbouring districts.
