2. We should be grateful if you could bear this correspondence in mind when the time comes for firming up details of the Prime Minister's visit. We should in particular welcome your views on likely Chinese reactions if such a proposal were put to them. We should also value Hong Kong's views on the desirability of involving Y-K Pao in this way.
