I have now received approval to pay a duty visit to China in March Mr Pover's minute of 16 February to Mr Clift refers (copy attached).

3. I enclose my and my wife's passports and should be grateful if you would obtain visas for. us for China. We shall be flying on 5 March from Hong Kong on flight CAAC 102 arriving in Peking at 1725 hours.

4. Mr Paul of FED has kindly agreed to speak to the Chinese Embassy after you have sent the passports to them. I should therefore be grateful if you would let him know when this has been done.
