3. Pleased at progress on 'A' station. Grateful for your offer of a
negotiated package for 'B' station. [(If appropriate) Delighted
at success of UK bid]. HMG concerned to see UK firms take full
advantage of such opportunities in Hong Kong.
GUANGDONG NUCLEAR PROJECT

Grateful for your help with this. Assure you that political and
economic significance of project fully understood in London.

Delays in reaching agreed Government position unfortunately inevitable
in view of complexity and involvement of many Government departments.
Now disagreements resolved.
5. Grateful for your views on tactics for discussions with Chinese.
