VISIT BY MR DONALD LIAO, HONG KONG SECRETARY FOR HOUSING
1.
I saw Mr Liao today at the end of his visit to London. After a very disappointing start, when only two representatives turned up to the initial meeting organised by the Export Group for Construction Industries (EGCI), Mr Liao has had a more encouraging round of individual visits to firms and a further meeting with six
company representatives. He thinks that some may take more interest in the opportunities in residential housing. I asked him to let us
know if we could do anything in the way of follow-up. He will
do so.
