I think we should avoid too many diverse calls on Whitehall departments. If a Minister or Deputy Secretary can see Sir Philip, that would probably be sufficient provided that we indicated the subjects which Sir Philip wished to discuss; it would then be up to the Department to field the right people.

2. We added the Treasury, where Sir Philip would like to see Mr Lawson and Mr Brittan.

I suggest that the list be brought up on about 13 August if we have heard nothing before.
