(a) The Project Steering Committee continued to To continue to monitor

monitor progress. Phased handover to the Provisional Board of Management commenced on 18 November 1980 with completion of the 4th floor. The 1st and 2nd floors were handed over on 7 January 1981, the 3rd floor on 13 January 1981, and the 6th floor and LG1 (excluding the animal house) on 6 and 9 March 1981 respectively. Remaining areas are due for handover mid-May 1981. Patient treatment and dental technician: training began in January 1981. HRH The Duke of Edinburgh officially opened the Hospital on 24 March 1981.

b) The Bill to provide for the establishment

of a Statutory Board of Governors with responsibilities for the commissioning and; management of the Prince Philip Dental Hospital was approved by he Governor-in- Council on 28 Avril for introduction into the Legislative Council on 13 May 1981.

The Working Party under the chairmanship of the Hon. Alex S.C. WU, OBE, JP, has held five meetings. A questionnaire seeking information on pharmacy practice and staffing has been sent to all dispensaries, drug stores, private doctors/dentists/veterinarians and non- Government hospital clinics.
