Educated in Hong Kong and Oxford: D. Phil. (1947) and

D.Sc. (1968) University of Oxford and highly qualified as an outstanding academic. Wife Grace; with 2 sons.

Vice-Chancellor, Hong Kong University (since 1972).

Has been on teaching staff of various universities in S.E. Asia, including Vice-Chancellor of the Nanyang University of Singapore, and a member of the T.K. Ann

Commission on Certified Masters.

Rayson Huang came from a distinguished educationalist and christian Chiu Chow family; he is highly intelligent but quiet and unassuming. He is widely respected as an outstanding university administrator and academic. Being the first Chinese appointed to head the Hong Kong University, the oldest local University, he is generally popular among his students and well respected by his

staff.

His interests are reading and music.
