Educated at Boston, Harvard and New York Universities in America and subsequently worked in family business. Wife Laura; with 5 children.

Director of Bank of East Asia Ltd. and Director of a large number of established local firms such as China Provident Co. Ltd., North Point Wharves, Ltd., Green Island Cement Co. Ltd., etc.

He has been Chairman of the Council of YMCA and member of the 1971 Salaries Commission, Vice Patron of Community Chest of Hong Kong, Member of the Banking Advisory Committee, and member of Community Relief Trust Fund Committee, Social Welfare Advisory Committee, etc.

Current Chairman of the Hong Kong Industrial Estates Authority and member of the Board of Governors of the Chung Chi College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

with wide interests and good connections in the banking and business circles, Mr. Li is highly intelligent but softly spoken and with charming manners. Easy going, but can be sharp and to the point, he is known for his prudent and balanced views. Highly respected in the banking circle and well-liked by the traditional local businessmen.

His main interest is horse-racing and he is a Steward of the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club.
