Mr Bremridge's appointment to The Executive and Legislative Councils and Committees of the Legislative Council expired on 1 December 1980, shortly before he left Hong Kong. He relinquished Chairmanship of the Universities and Polytechnic Grants Committee and membership of The Advisory Committee of the Independent Commission Against Corruption and The Committee on Directorate Salaries on 31 December 1980.
Mr Bremridge also served on the Public Services Commission, on The Trade and Industry Advisory Board, on The Corruption Prevention Advisory
He was at one time the Committee and The Trade Development Council. Chairman of The Hong Kong Tourist Association, and his interests extended to membership of The Country Parks Board, The Aviation Advisory Board, The Transport Advisory Committee and The Hong Kong Management Association.
He was also an active member of the Council and Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce.
He was appointed a Justice of The Peace in 1971 and awarded the OBE in 1976. He became Financial Secretary in June 1981.
