On release from HM Forces, he rejoined the War Office in Army Contracts dealing with packing and plant hire contracts.
Appointed to the staff of the Financial Adviser in Italy dealing mainly with store audit, local contracts, disposal of stores and putting the Army on to a peacetime accounting basis. Later sent to HQ Trieste to set up the Financial Adviser organisation for the force remaining in the Free Territory.
