6. Where a DS officer is selected for one of the above posts, the DS officer usually goes on DS salary and conditions of service. The total costs with the prior consent of ODA in each case are charged by the FCO to ODA Overseas Service Aid Scheme (OSAS). The ODA then claw back from the dependent territory the provision made in the local estimates for local salary. The only exceptions are Bermuda and Hong Kong, where there are no OSAS agreements and the FCO would claw back direct.
