Since we spoke this morning I have spoken to Miss Taylor in POD, who tells me that it would be inappropriate for this Section to send out the Circular about an appointment, following the announcement made at an FCO News Conference. This is an appoint- ments function and should continue to be the responsibility of HK & GD.
2. I therefore suggest that in future you should send me a copy of the Circular and I will then issue another Circular saying that the Governor designate is available for briefing and consultations between certain dates and any officers wishing to see him should contact Heads of Mission Section.
3.
Before issuing this (second) Circular I should need to know:
a
Governor's name, decorations, address and telephone number where he could be contacted
b
dates between which he would be available for briefing and an Audience
C whether married and if so whether his wife would
accompany him to the Audience
I should also need a copy of his cv in connection with the Audience.
