1. I thought I should let you know that I shall be transit- ing Antigua on 23 January en route for Grand Cayman via Miami, after visiting Charles Godden in Anguilla on 22 and 23 January. The purpose of my visit to these territories is to discuss with the OAGS future staffing arrangements and to get the feel of how a dependent territory is run. I shall be going to Anguilla from the Conference of Caribbean Governors in Barbados (19-21 January).

2. Could I ask you to book me into a suitable hotel for the night of 23 January? All I have ever seen of Antigua is the airport, and so an hotel somewhere else on the island would be preferred.

3. I shall be arriving from Anguilla on LI 145 at 1755 and departing for Grand Cayman via Miami on EA 964 at 1315 on 24 January If you are free for a drink between those times or even breakfast! - I should be delighted to see you.

4. Perhaps you would let me know where you have booked me, either before I leave London on 17 January or whilst I am in Barbados.
