ALLOWANCES FOR MARRIED FEMALE OFFICERS

RECEIVED IN AE.STRY NO. 51 12 JAN1981

12 STRY

The Hong Kong Association of Senior Female Government Officers is at present in dispute with the Hong Kong Govern at over fringe benefits for married female civil servants The Hong Kong Government has turned down a recommendation that these officers should be eligible for all the benefits enjoyed by their male counterparts.

2. It is likely that this will attract parliamentary interest as the Secretary of State is responsible for Hong Kong affairs. I should therefore be grateful if you would advise me whether married female DS officers are eligible for the same boarding school allowance, housing benefit, baggage and travel allowances for tours of duty overseas as married male officers.
