These secondments are almost entirely for appointments to overseas Govern- ments/institutions under the British aid programme. Prior to 1976-except partly for 1975-the details are not available, but are not expected to be significantly different from the later years.
Hong Kong (Supreme Court Decision)
Mr. Parry asked the Lord Privy Seal what action he plans to take following the decision of the Supreme Court in Hong Kong concerning the suspension of 26 dispensers without pay.
Mr. Hurd: No action is required as the court recognised the right of the Hong Kong Government to suspend civil ser- vants. However, the dispensers have since lodged an appeal which is scheduled to be heard on 30 October.
