Chapter 7 - Upper End of the Master Pav Scale/Disciplined Services

Pay Scale

The Staff Side informed the Official Side that some officers in senior professional ranks would have preferred to see the upper end of the Master Pay Scale remaining unchanged, but the sizes of increments between points increased in order to achieve the same benefits. This was because judging by past experience, it was likely that some of these officers would not be able to climb up to the extended upper end of the already long scale before retirement,

Chapter 8 Married Female Staff

The Staff Side welcomed the Commission's recommendations, but emphasized that the recommendations must not be implemented at the expense of officers who are already enjoying the benefits. They pointed out that the existing levels of services and facilities were bound to be lowered once married female staff became eligible to use them unless Government took steps to improve such services and facilities accordingly in order to keep them at an acceptable level.
