Members will be asked to advise whether the recommendations in the Seventh Report on the new Directorate rank structure, on Directorate salaries and on the ranking of individual posts should be accepted in principle, subject to the approval of the detailed recommendations and to the provision of the necessary funds by the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council.

(The Secretary for the Civil Service (Mr Martin ROWLANDS) and the Deputy Secretary for the Civil Service (Mr Hamish MACLEOD) will attend before the Council for the discussion of this item).
