2/4 Mr Robert Parry MP (Liverpool, Scotland Exchange Labour) has written to the Secretary of State enclosing copies of letters addressed to the Governor which he has received from the Hong Kong Social Workers' General Union, about a dispute over the recent Welfare Class pay review.

2. Of the 10 PQS on Hong Kong which Mr Parry has tabled for written answer on 26 March, three refer to the dispute taken up by the Social Workers' General Union. We await Hong Kong's comments on these. In the Meantime, I recommend that Mr Blaker send an interim reply, as in the attached draft.
