DESK OFFICER INDEX

PA

VISIT TO LONDON BY MR GRAHAM, SENIOR CROWN COUNSEL HONG KONG

1.

23 + 22A

25/3

Mr Rushford's and other minutes below. Fir Graham has not yet contacted me but should get in touch soon. It is clear from Mr Macpherson's letter that Mr Graham is simply offering 2 or 3 days within which he will be available. Obviously he does not intend very lengthy discussions.

2.

It would be helpful if you could telephone the Treasury Solicitor's Office and the CSD and see whether they have been able to react to the letter which I wrote to them.

27A

VISIT OF MR ROY ASTIN, ATTORNEY-GENERAL'S DEPARTMENT

3.

Mr. Astin also wants to eall on Mr Rushford. He wishes mainly to discuss extradition and secondly the question of inhibitions on dismissal of officers under CR61 when an appeal is made against criminal proceedings. Will you please get out any papers on this

subject.
