On May 25, 1979, the Audit (Amendment) Bill 1979 was enacted to provide for the Director of Au salary to be specified by the Governor and to be provided for under Other Charges rather than Personal Emoluments. It would no longer be included under Civil Service establishment, and neither the Standing Committee on Directorate Salaries and Conditions of Service nor the Establishment Sub-Committee of Finance Committee will consider the grading of this post.
