1. I attach a copy of a letter from Mr Dennis Canavan MP enclosing a copy of a letter from the Hong Kong Social Workers' General Union. I realise that the issued raised was covered in your letter to Dick Clift of 24 March, but nonetheless thought it prudent to seek your comments since the Union's letter is dated 29 April. It might be simplest if you let us have a copy of your reply to the Union. In any case, I should be grateful if you would let us have your comments as soon as possible.
