Pay Claim 1980

The Staff Side of the Senior Civil Service Council has considered the Pay Trend Survey results for 1979-80 and submit that they should form the main basis for an adjustment of salaries with effect from 1st April, 1980.

However, the Staff Side believes that for social reasons, Government recognises the need to adjust the Pay Trend Survey figures in favour of the lower and middle salary bands. We consider that such an adjustment would be reasonable on the understanding that it would not have any adverse effect upon the awards to be given to the upper band and that future salary adjustments will not in anyway be influenced by such adjustments on this occasion.

Yours faithfully,

Mr Allan LEUNG, १

Official Side Secretary, Senior Civil Service Council
