Act 1948 (a) or the British Nationality Act 1965 (b), a British protected person within the meaning of the said Act of 1948 or a citizen of Southern Rhodesia; except that any individual who was a British subject at any time before the date of the commencement of the said Act or 1948 only by virtue of the provisions of the Act of 1705 (c), intituled "An Act for the Naturalization of the Most Excellent Princess Sophia Electress and Duchess Dowager of Hanover and the Issue of Her Body", shall be deemed not to be a United Kingdom national;

any corporation, firm or association incorporated or constituted under the laws in force in the United Kingdom or in any territory for whose international relations

Her Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom were, the material time, responsible.

PART II

REGISTRATION OF CLAIMS

An application to the Commission to register a claim in accordance with the provisions of this Order may be made by or on behalf of any person:-

(a) who on the date on which this Order comes into operation

is a United Kingdom national; and

(b) who is beneficially entitled to the property to which the

claim relates or who would have been so entitled but for confiscation, nationalisation, expropriation or dispossession, whether direct or indirect, or through the application of governmental measures effectively causing dispossession; and

who on 1 October 1949 was a United Kingdom national or, if he was not the person beneficially entitled to the property to which the claim relates at the time of its deprivation by confiscation, nationalisation, expropriation or dispossession as aforesaid, whose predecessor in title was a United Kingdom national on 1 October 1949.

4. The Commission shall register any claim in respect of which an application containing the information specified in Article 5(1) of this Order has been received under the provisions of Article 3 of
