No. 2

Count Eduard Reventlow to Mr. C. R. Attlee

Royal Danish Legation,

London, 20th March, 1947 I HAVE the honour to acknowledge receipt of your note of to-day's date informing me that, as a first step towards the restoration of freedom to travel to Danish and British territories, His Britannic Majesty's Government are prepared to conclude with the Government of Denmark an agreement in the following terms:-

[As in No. 1]

2. In reply, I have the honour to inform you that, on 13th instant, the competent Danish authorities abolished the necessity of Danish visas for British subjects. The Danish Government are therefore all the more willing to conclude an agreement with His Majesty's Government in the United' Kingdom for the reciprocal abolition of United Kingdom visas for Danish subjects.

3. On instructions from my Government I have therefore the honour to confirm the provisions set out in your note, which, with the present reply, shall be regarded as placing on record the agreement reached between the two Governments.
