I take great pleasure in enclosing herewith the newspaper clipping reporting the progress of my appeal for the illegal immigrants from Macau. Another copy has been posted under separate cover to Mr R.D. Clift, Hong Kong and General Department, Foreign and Commonwealth Office for reference.

Having pledged to render my faithful services to you, I should be able to do so much more efficiently if I were given an honorary post such as that of "Adviser of Affairs between Hong Kong and Macau", simply "Adviser of Macau Affairs" or similar capacity directly responsible to you. I am in the position to keep you informed of what is going on between these two enclaves and offer constructive comments if required.

It should be mentioned that I am independent of any political influences and my object is service with honour, not money-making.
