With further reference to this matter, we now enclose a copy of a report received from Cornell University relating to our client's degree from that University.

We have underlined the particular subjects taken by our client in relation to Economics because, as we have said previously, our client majored in Chinese Economics.

We would also draw to your attention that Mr. Baron's studies at the University of Hawaii and the University of Hong Kong involved Economics and were part of his degree. At the University of Hawaii he studied Public Finance and Micro-Economic Analysis and at the University of Hong Kong, he took that University's Chinese Economic course.

We have been requested by our client to try and find out from you when a decision might be reached upon his application for permanent residence as the present indecision is not only causing our client a certain amount of personal concern but is also affecting his business. We refer in particular to the high status telephone answering service mentioned in our letter of 30th August. In relation to that, the position is that Mr. Baron's backers are not willing to produce the necessary monies until such time as they know that Mr. Baron is definitely going to remain in Hong Kong. On the other hand, the various backers are particularly interested in the service being offered by Mr. Baron and are anxious that Mr. Baron should commence this business as soon as possible.
