One case that I earnestly hope will be immediately attended to is that of
a young man who spent two months traveling from China's northernmost province of Heilungkiang, reached Hongkong on December 8 this year and went to the U.S. Consulate General there four days later to seek political asylum but was rejected and handed over to the police for possible repatriation to the mainland. My hopes are ardent that the Hongkong authorities would be persuaded into letting stay in the colony, either permanently or temporarily, pending transfer to other free world destination for resettlement. is willing to come to Taiwan, FCRA will be most happy to arrange his reception.
