Within this period 807 documents were recorded, covering 969 travellers. The great majority were valid for return: of the 75 single journey permits recorded in this period, 64 were issued in places in Guangdong province other than Guangzhou; 1 was issued in Guangzhou, 1 in Fujian, 3 in Hubei, 1 in Jiangzi,

1 in Anhui, 3 in Yunnan and 1 in Guizhon. Permits were issued for varying periods of validity(in the case of single journey permits the period refers to the time within which the permit had to be used). Of the 807 :

were valid for 3 months when issued

Within this period 56% of the permits issued in Fujian province were valid for more than 1 year and 27% for one year. 93% of the permits issued in Guangzhou were valid for one year.
