Within this period 890 documents were recorded, covering 1,124 travellers. The great majority were valid for return : of the 84 single journey permits recorded in this period, 67 were issued in places in Guangdong province other than Guangzhou; nil was issued in Guangzhou, 13 in Hubei and 4 in Hebei. Permits were issued for varying periods of validity (in the case of single journey permits the period refers to the time within which the permit had to be used). Of the 890 :

Within this period 37% of the permits issued in Fujian province were valid for more than 1 year and 56% for one year. 93% of the permits issued in Guangzhou were valid for one year.
