A Press release will be issued by the Director of Information Services on 30th July and before this the Director of Immigration will give a background briefing to the Press.

The Director of Immigration is arranging for the preparation and distribution of a Questions and Answers Paper highlighting the main points in the White Paper. Either copies of the White Paper or relevant extracts of the White Paper will also be made available to the Press.

A Chinese translation of the White Paper will be prepared and distributed after 30th July 1980.

City District Officers and District Officers (NT) will also be briefed on the proposals and will receive copies of briefing material.

(The Secretary for Security (Mr L.M. DAVIES) and the Director of Immigration (Acting) (Mr A.J. CARTER) will be standing by in case Members should wish to ask any questions).
