The White Paper on Nationality

I enclose a letter dated 21st August, 1980 from the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation addressed to the Home Secretary. This concerns White Paper proposals which may affect British staff in the employment of the Bank.

We have been asked to pass the letter to the Home Office. I should, therefore, be grateful if you would do so on our behalf.

We shall let you have our own views after UMELCO has considered the proposals.
