6.23 A citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies who is such by registration under section 12(6) of the 1948 Act is.to become a citizen of the British Dependent Territories if the qualifying

descent in the male line mentioned in section 12(6) (a) was from

a person who was born or naturalised in an ex

existing dependency

or who was a British subject by reason of the annexation of an

existing dependency.

6.24 A person who is a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies

by having resumed his citizenship under section 1 of the 1964 Act

is to become a citizen of the British Dependent Territories if the

qualifying connection mentioned in section 1(1)(b) was with an

existing dependency.
