Relevant employment for Businessmen

The Home Secretary opened by saying that they

accepted the FCO's proposal that businessmen should be

included in the special arrangements for the transmission

of citizenship by descent for those in 'relevant employ-

ment'. The Home Office still had some misgivings about

muhr

this and may want to consider whether there was an

argument for slightly different treatment for businessmen

as opposed to other categories but they were not opposed

to the idea in principle.

Citizenship for the Dependent Territories

2. The Home Secretary recalled that they had agreed to

have three rather than two separate citizenships. This

was, however, the limit of the concessions they were
