NATIONALITY LAW.

As explained in FCO Tel No 32 of 17 January we need

to consider alternatives to the title CUKC. Assuming

that Ministers agree to the proposal for a separate

category for colonial belongers, it is likely that the

new Nationality Act would simply define a single

collective title, to apply to citizens of all dependent

territories. This would probably be some such title

as "British Dependent Territories Citizen". In addition,

the Act would make provision for variants of this

collective title to be used for administrative purposes

in each territory.
