Representations by the Heung Yee Kuk

انه

Whilst visiting Hong Kong last October, Chris Patten and I met a deputation of officers from the Heung Kee Kuk. Having heard something of this body on previous occasions and of their links with other Members of Parliament, I felt it was important to hear their views while we were visiting the colony. I enclose with this letter a copy of a letter and memorandum which they have sent to air Paul Bryan, Chairman of the Anglo- Hong Kong Parliamentary Group, and I would be grateful if you could have a look at the eight points which they make in their statement andlet me have your comments upon them.
