October bringing to his attention the decision in 29/12 Hong Kong to demolish the Hong Kong Club, and to re-develop the site.

I anticipated that the matter might have to

be brought to your attention, but apparently my letter has been mislaid, despite a telephone, call from my secretary to Michael's Private Office.

All I wish to bring to the attention of the UK Government is the hope that this fine example of colonial architecture would not be demolished without the appropriate Inquiry, since it forms a unique land- mark in Hong Kong.
