Financial Implications

12

4

There are no financial or staffing implications.

Public Relations

13

The public is expected to react favourably to the proposal as it will enable the naming of streets to be done in a more effective manner. The provision of procedures for objections and appeals will be seen as Government's recognition of the rights of individuals in matters concerning them. If the Bill is enacted suitable publicity will be arranged to bring out the salient features of the proposals.

Advice Sought

14

Members will be asked to advise whether the Public Health and Urban Services (Amendment) (No 2) Bill, 1980 at Annex A should be introduced into the Legislative Council.

(The Director of Urban Services (MR B. D. WILSON), Crown Counsel (R.A, GRIFFEY) and the Principal Assistant Secretary for the Environment (MR MICHAEL M.Y. SUEN) will attend before Council for the discussion of this item.)
