Dear Dr. Stumpf,
As promised during our telephone conversation of 28 April, I am leaving this note of arrangements made for you in the Frankfurt area.
Wednesday, 30 April
We
1600 Press Conference at the offices of the British Consulate-General, 9th floor.
have invited representatives from the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Frankfurter Rundschau, Frankfurter Neue Presse, Deutsche Presseagentur (DPA). Unfortunately, the Spiegel representative is unable to accept our invitation.
Thursday, 1 May
is a public holiday. I regret it has not been possible to arrange anything for that day.
Friday, 2 May
0900 Dr Steinhäuser of the Sozialministerium in Wiesbaden will collect you from your
hotel. According to what he has told us he is arranging a series of meetings in the morning followed by a working lunch.
1500 Call on Minister for Social Affairs, Herr Gölter in Mainz (Rheinland Pfalz). The
contact in the Ministry is Herr Färing who has requested that you report to him first. He will then take you to the Minister. Herr Färing said he was also arranging a couple of meetings with officials after your call on the Minister. The address of the Ministry in Mainz is Bauhofstrasse 4.
I understand from Dr Steinhäuser that he is also making arrangements for the rest of the day after your visit to Mainz. I do not know the details but he will tell you himself.
I contacted my colleague in Munich about a possible visit to Frankfurt by Herr Sartarius on either Saturday, 3 May or Sunday, 4 May. Unfortunately such a visit will not be possible as Herr Sartarius will be away this weekend. Since your programme for 2 May is also full, I regret it will not be possible for Herr Sartorious to meet you this time.
PS I enclose a copy of a telex about your programme in Berlin
Yours sincerely
