The other family, ethnic Chinese, came via Malaysia ábout seven months ago.

The husband has slight knowledge of French thus is easier to pick up the language. He is working in a restaurant.

The wife works in a child day care centre. Their children attend

local school and are involved in various activities with schoolmates.

They came in a group of 400 who were thrice robbed by Thai pirates.

They had to face stormy weather but were finally rescued by an American

ship. Inspite of once being a wealthy family and inspite of all

the tremendous hardships during their escape, they have fully accepted their fate and are philosophically happy people. They were the only family who offered to go to Belgium.
