Initial information received from Ministry of Labour indicates that Sweden is in the process of deciding new refugee quota to be announced July 1 beginning of the new fiscal year 1980/81 stop Sweden will

definitely take 1250 refugees plus still unknown additional number

stop in the past Sweden unconditionally accepted recommendation from

UNHCR as from where refugees should be taken stop on all three occasions

UNHCR omitted Hong Kong in favour of Malaysia and Indonesia stop will follow same procedure and will accept Hong Kong cases willingly if UNHCR recommends stop Labour Department will bring our plea to govern- ment stop strongly urge follow up through appropriate channels
