We have been asked to pass the enclosed message from Masefield of the Information Branch, Government Secretariat, Hong Kong, to you on arrival and to let Miss Lee have the enclosed fact sheets and pamphlets which we have received from James Tse of Government Information Services in Hong Kong.
We have been in touch with Sigvard Tarrenias of Luther- hjälpen in Uppsala, who we understand had already been in touch with you, and who has made the following arrangements.

Thursday 22 May:
all-day visit to Uppsala
all-day visit to Labour Market Ministry and Labour Market Board (who have primary responsibility in Sweden for the settlement of refugees).
We have therefore tried to arrange some calls for Friday 23 May with contacts who have an interest in and some influence on Swedish policy on Vietnamese refugees. At present the programme looks something like this:

Call on Mir Anders Mellbourn, an editorial writer for Dagens Nyheter (one of the two principal Stockholm dailies) with a special interest in Vietnamese refugees
A lunch at which a Swedish Foreign Ministry official will be present
Call on International Secretariat of Social Democratic Party (Opposition, and largest single Swedish political party)
Call on HM Ambassador.
I gather from Mr Tarrenias that you will be arriving in Stockholm late this evening.
Embassy when you have a free moment either on Wednesday or Thursday.
You may like to telephone me at the so that we can arrange to meet and I can let you know how things are shaping up. I have informed Lutherhjälpen of what we propose for Friday.
