VIETNAMESE REFUGEES IN HONG KONG

(a) UK Aims: To find as many resettlement places as quickly as

possible.

(b) Background:

There are still 38,000 Vietnamese refugees in

Hong Kong and the number is going down very slowly. It had

been hoped that only a small number would be there by the

end of the year. This will not now be possible.
