You telephoned me about the note of the Home Secretary's talk with S Murray." Maciehose on 6 November. You wished to draw attention to the fact that Sir Murray had stressed the readiness of the Hong Kong Government to help "within limits" in the resettlement of a further quota of refugees. I am glad to confirm, for the sake of the record, that the reference in the final sentence of my note of the meeting to the Government's consideration of the ways in which the Hong Kong Government could help was indeed in response to such an offer from Sir Murray.
