The number under detention represents the number of Vietnamese

Refugees who have been settled in China before coming to Hong

illegally.

10,384 Refugees have arrived since 1st January, 1980.

The increase of 101 since 16th September is due to the arrival

of four small boats & the "M.V. EGEON".

3. UNHCR has resettled 26,353 Refugees since 1st January of

which 462 in the past week.
