AIR SERVICES HONG KONG/LONDON
1.
I would be grateful for your views on Mr March's letter
of 19 June attached,
The background is the Secretary of State for Trade's decision to allow Cathay Pacific to fly, along with the other airlines men- tioned by Mr March, between London and Hong Kong.
2.
Cathay is owned 60% by John Swire and Sons (Hong Kong) Limited. British Airways have a 15% holding. The registered office and technical and administrative Headquarters are in Hong Kong.
3.
I would strongly endorse Mr March's points that Cathay should be treated as a British airline.
