JOINTLY PROTEST AGAINST

CAA

When all stadium of Hong Kong business people still blasting the British Civil Aviation Authority denying Cathay Pacific Airways licence to operate London-Hong Kong flying rights affairs, the leaders of major textile associations coincidentally held a joint meeting yesterday and lodged a protest assertion.

They are Mr S K Chan, President of Federation of HK Garment Manufacturers; Mr Fok wah-punn, Chairman of HK Woollen & Synthetic Knitting Manufacturers Association; Mr Frank Lin, Chairman of HK Knitwear Exporters & Manufacturers Association; and Mr S T King, Chairman of HK Garment Manufacturers Association.

They identified WK decision was nothing more than a discriminative action, which would prejudice the particular relations between UK and HK.

"Hong Kong has been experiencing exteme passive

conditions in consultation with importing countries, and UK decision would just put Hong Kong in a worse position in the nearest future. The other importing countries would certainly follow such a precedent conducted by one who has had such particular relations with Hong Kong in terms of economy and politics. The consequences will be detrimental to the development of Hong Kong," said the textile leaders.

They further pinpointed that it was contradictory to

the best interest of the marco- economy between UK and HK,
