Chairman, Hong Kong Civic Association:- Begins

Thank you for your telex message of 2 April about the Civil

Aviation Authority's decision not to license Cathay Pacific

Airlines for the London Hong Kong route. I and my colleagues recognise that this decision has caused considerable concern

in Hong Kong. I know that the Secretary of State for Trade will consider most carefully CPA's appeal and the supporting

submissions by the Hong Kong Government. In the meantime it

would not be right for me to make any public comment on the

matter. Ends.
