The Conference was attended by a total of 47 people from 26 trade union organisations and 14 places including four representa- tives from the ITF Secretariat and the undersigned.

The conference was not as well organised as it ought to be, possibly due to the last minute change of the dates of meeting.

All conference delegates were accommodated at the Hilton ilotel but special transport arrangements had to be made to take them to meeting
venues in other hotels.
6.
The first day of the conference was held in the penthouse suite of the Excelsior Hotel where there could be only space for a long table in front, several rows of seats and a rostrum for speakers. Com- plaints were heard that the classroom atmosphere was only good for in- doctrination purposes.
